Gavin Wood, Director of Get Assessed, is a fully qualified Independent Senior Motor Assessor with more than 30+ years of motor industry experience. His expertise in assessing General Motor Vehicle, Prestige Vehicles, Trailers & Caravans, Heavy Vehicles and Machinery, Mining Vehicles, Vessels, and Personal Watercrafts is arguably second to none.

Gavin’s hands-on trade experience as a panel beater gave him a grass-roots understanding of the complexities relating to motor vehicle insurance and the industry at large. He further developed his career focusing more on inspections and assessments in his various modes of employment working for, with or alongside a large number of large multi-national insurance companies.

Gavin formed ‘Get Assessed’ in in early 2017. Get Assessed’ core focus is to provide specialist assessing services backed by expert unbiased investigation and damage assessment of vehicle and product accident claims.

Gavin personally attends repair facilities around NSW to conduct assessments or quotations. His keeps abreast of technological advancements and changes within the automotive industry through regular attendance, training and accreditation from a vast number of industry recognized courses.

Gavin continues to repair vehicles of a regular basis to ensure his awareness of ever changing technologies and repair methods meet the needs of the present day.

Our Approach

A consistent approach to every assessment procedure conducted is your guarantee when dealing with Get Assessed. When reasonably practicable to do so, and in accordance with the NSW Government State Insurance Regulatory Authority, Get Assessed will at all times:

 

  • Ensure that the parties to the application understand the nature of the application, the issues to be considered and the role of Get Assessed, the Assessor, as an independent decision maker;
  • Explain to the parties any and all aspects of the procedure of the assessment, and any interim decision or ruling made by the Assessor during the course of the assessment, in respect of that procedure, that relates to the application;
  • Ensure that all parties have the opportunity to have their submissions considered; and
  • Ensure that the parties have had an opportunity to explore the settlement of any dispute.
